The Dialogue Tent at this year’s summer festival at the Haus der Kulturen in Düsseldorf will be a vibrant space for exchange, connection, and shared learning. The focus will be on key themes such as remembrance, diversity, integration, and working together to shape a hopeful future. The event will feature lectures, interactive discussion sessions, and symbolic activities. The Dialogue Tent fosters meaningful conversations between people from different backgrounds and places a special emphasis on addressing issues such as racism and promoting a positive, inclusive future. The closing event, “Our Shared Future—Colorful and Diverse,” gives all participants a voice and creates a lasting reminder of the shared goal of promoting an open and diverse society.

2:00 – 2:05 p.m.: Welcome and Introduction

• Welcome to the participants and introduction to the main themes, “Düsseldorf is Diverse” and “Our Shared Future—Diverse and Multifaceted.” Explanation of the objectives of the Dialogue Tent program.

2:05 – 2:20 p.m.: Presentation – “Never Again Solingen – Hope for the Future”

• We are discussing the events surrounding the 1993 arson attack in Solingen and their significance for today's society. The focus is on the lessons we can learn from them to combat racism and promote a diverse, peaceful society.

2:20 – 2:35 p.m.: Open Dialogue – “Düsseldorf Is Diverse – Welcome to Diversity”

The audience is invited to ask questions, share their own experiences, or offer comments. The moderator guides the discussion and ensures that a variety of voices are heard.

2:35 – 2:50 p.m.: Presentation of the vision for the House of Cultures – “House of Cultures – Shaping the Future Together”

• Short presentation: We explain the organization's vision and mission:
  • What role does the House of Cultures in Düsseldorf play?
  • How does it contribute to promoting diversity, integration, and intercultural dialogue?
