Bylaws

The Bylaws of Haus der Kulturen Düsseldorf e.V. – The foundation of our nonprofit work promoting encounters, education, and international understanding.

Our association brings people from different cultures together and offers them a place for encounter, exchange, information, and creativity. The association promotes internationalism, international understanding, education, the arts, culture, and assistance for the persecuted. The association’s bylaws govern membership, its governing bodies, financing, and dissolution.The purpose of the association is to promote an international outlook, tolerance in all areas of culture, and international understanding (No. 13 AO); to promote civic engagement in support of charitable and benevolent causes (No. 25 AO); to promote education and upbringing (No. 7 AO); the promotion of art and culture (No. 5 of the Articles of Association), the provision of assistance to those persecuted for political, racial, or religious reasons, as well as to refugees and displaced persons (No. 10 of the Articles of Association), and the general promotion of democratic governance (No. 24 of the Articles of Association).
