Yesterday, we had the pleasure of welcoming our neighbors from the Department of Social and Cultural Sciences at Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences to the Haus der Kulturen.

Dean Prof. Dr. Irene Dittrich, spokesperson Dr. Sabine Evertz, and researcher Sabine Reimann from the Alter Schlachthof Memorial met with our board of directors and staff members from the administrative office.

The lively and in-depth discussion quickly made it clear that there are numerous opportunities for collaboration on joint projects between the university, the House of Cultures, our member organizations, and local communities.

These include, among other things, practical work and research on intercultural memory, empirical approaches to combating racism and right-wing extremism, joint exhibition projects at both institutions, as well as musical and academic events.

We were so caught up in all the exciting conversations that we actually forgot to take a group photo in front of our "House of Cultures" wall. We'll definitely make up for that at our next meeting.
