Our new dialogue format: “Movements!”
About encounters, journeys, new beginnings, arriving, and connections that last.
Some encounters leave a lasting impression. Some thoughts set things in motion. And sometimes a conversation leads to a connection that wasn't there before.
With “Bewegnungen!,” the Haus der Kulturen Düsseldorf invites you to a special evening where people from different communities and walks of life will share their thoughts, perhaps poems, and personal stories. The focus is on the themes of movement and encounter: experiences of setting out and arriving, defining moments, surprising connections, and the question of what moves us as human beings.
Between the spoken segments, brief musical interludes create space for reflection, a moment to catch one’s breath, and further thought. Afterward, the evening opens up for a casual exchange over çay, water, and light snacks. This fosters a personal and welcoming atmosphere where new conversations and encounters can begin.
The event is intended for interested and open-minded adults. People from various social circles, professional fields, and personal backgrounds are warmly welcome.
Our discussion facilitator for the evening is Dr. Agata Hanifa Skalska (assistant professor of early childhood education).
