About the Event

Families bring with them diverse life stories, experiences, values, and ideas about parenting. This diversity enriches our work in early intervention services and, at the same time, invites us to continually reflect on our own professional approach. How can we successfully recognize and reach families in their diverse life contexts? What role do our own upbringings and potential assumptions play? And how can we work together to build connections, strengthen trust, and provide support in a way that is sensitive to issues of discrimination? We would like to explore these questions together.

Our guest speaker will be Jennifer Jaque-Rodney, a midwife, health scientist, and expert in early intervention, who will help us gain new perspectives and develop practical ideas for our work. The content of the event is based on the training module “Transculturally Competent Practice in Early Intervention” from the National Center for Early Intervention (NZFH). We will make the module available afterward, along with the event documentation.
