Kickoff: Ensemble of Cultures

Many languages, many voices, one choir.
At the Haus der Kulturen Düsseldorf, an open, multilingual, and polyphonic choir is taking shape—featuring songs from the cultures of origin of our communities. It all starts at the kick-off event.

You'll meet the choir director, Kemal Yaşar (opera singer, choir director, and vocal coach); we'll sing a piece together for the first time; you'll learn how rehearsals work; and we'll talk together about where our journey is headed.

Anyone can join—knowledge of music notation or choir experience is helpful but not required.
What we’re looking for: a love of singing, an openness to others’ songs and languages, and a willingness to practice at home between rehearsals.
