The Haus der Kulturen Düsseldorf (HdKD) invites fathers with international backgrounds and their children to a creative storytelling workshop.

Together, you’ll share your stories: Where do we come from? What have we experienced? What do we want to pass on?
Using your smartphones, you ’ll create photos, audio recordings, and
short videos—with creative, personal, and professional guidance.

At the same time, you’ll learn together:
• how social media works
• how to spot fake news and hateful content
• how to empower children online
• and how to share your own positive stories.

"StoryBande" combines family time, media literacy, and interaction with other fathers and children from Düsseldorf.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll be able to:
• create your own small media projects using your smartphone
• creatively share stories from your family
• better understand social media content
• speak more confidently about hate, exclusion, and fake news
• get to know other fathers and families.

Important: Please bring your smartphone or tablet (Wi-Fi is available).

Space is limited.

Kickoff: Saturday, September 26, 2026, 11 a.m.–2 p.m.
